DBARC is very proud of its Flyball Teams, the BRIMBLECOMBE BARKERS
Flyball is a relay race for a team of four dogs. The object of the race is for each dog to jump four low hurdles and trigger the Flyball box and retrieve a ball. As they catch the ball, they will turn and race back over the jumps to the start/finish line.
The race is won by the first team to get all four dogs AND four balls back without fault.
The dogs really love it - all the dogs are pets, and just play this in their spare time for fun!!
The Brimblecombe Barkers are primarily made up of rescue dogs, some of which are DBARC's very own.
Any breed, shape or size of dog can enjoy this fun sport. Our biggest dog is a Lurcher, and our smallest dog is a Papillon!!
The team practices every Sunday, 12.00pm start in Eversley
If you would like to come along and have a go, you will need to have basic obedience with your dog - ie, it comes back when asked!
Your dog will also need to love tennis balls!!
Flyball History
The sport was first seen in California in the late 70’s. By the early 80’s, the sport became so
popular, that the North American Flyball Association was formed. In the early 90’s Flyball came to
Britain, where a group of enthusiasts formed the British Flyball Association (BFA).
