HATTIE
Please read our Homing Criteria BEFORE applying for any of our dogs.
BREED: Sprollie (collie x spaniel)
SEX: Female (Neutered)
AGE: Aprox. 1.5 Years
SIZE: Medium/Large
Hattie was originally adopted from DBARC as a young pup, but sadly now finds herself back in rescue as she is not getting along with the cats in the home. The cats are having to live upstairs and Hattie downstairs - so the family feel for the happiness of both species it’s best to find her a new, cat free home.
She has been living with teenage children. She loves people but does get very over excited when she sees them and jumps up a lot at first.
She pulls a lot on the lead so will need more training with this. She has not been allowed off lead as she has not been taught a recall so her new family will need to be willing and able to take her to training to help her improve her doggie skills
She is good with other dogs, and enjoys playing with her frisbee or soft rubbery toys. Squeaky toys are doomed as she can de-squeak at record speed!!
Sprollies are very active dogs, and as such are great candidates for doggies sports such as Agility or Flyball.
Hattie is a great dog and is going to make a wonderful companion for some very lucky family.
When a dog moves into a new home, they need time and consideration to help them feel confident and settled. They are having to adjust to a totally different environment, with new people and new challenges, and when one adopts a rescue dog, one must be ready to help them through not just the first few days, but for as long as it takes for them to feel comfortable in their new life. They are relying on their new owners to teach them the house rules and all about the new world they are living in. They are likely to need and benefit from dog training classes, and may also need behavioural help and the adopter may need to seek professional advice. If you are considering adopting, please be very sure that you are committed to the needs of your new friend, as they will be relying on you and their life and happiness is literally in your hands. This will last for their lifetime, so please also take an honest look at your age and activity levels and ensure that you are likely to be able to meet their ongoing needs.
Please fill in our Application Form if you are interested in adopting this dog
(If the animal’s name does not appear in the drop down box on the form - it means the animal is already reserved)
