TANNER

Please read our Homing Criteria BEFORE applying for any of our dogs.

BREED: Collie Cross
SEX: Male (Neutered)
AGE: Aprox. 7 Years
SIZE: Medium (15kg)

Lovely Tanner's former owner was reported to the Dog Warden for keeping two dogs in seriously neglectful conditions. They were living full time chained up in a shed in filthy conditions, and although the person was at least feeding them, and occasionally letting them out, this was not a satisfactory situation. When he was advised that he must improve the situation, he took both the dogs to the Vets for a more permanent solution, but fortunately for these lovely dogs, the Vet said this was not acceptable, and managed to get the dogs signed over to rescue for rehoming.

Tanner has been in the care of a kind kennel owner whilst waiting to come to DBARC. He has been a very good boy, friendly to all people and just grateful for love and attention. Apart from the dog he lived with, he had likely not met many dogs recently, and although he was happy enough to see other dogs, he did not take much notice of them or try to interact with them, just remained aloof. He may have lived the deprived and loveless life he was enduring for literally years, and it is a tribute to his lovely nature that he just wants to be friends with people.

Tanner is a very special boy, and needs a special someone all of his own to make up for the sad and lonely life he has led. We do not know if he has had anything to do with children, so we would not wish to place him with youngsters under 10 years. Tanner would like a previous dog owner who has the love and empathy to help him adjust to a happy new life where he will be the valued companion he so wants to be, not a cruelly neglected and unwanted soul he had become.
