LUCINDA

£0.00

Please read our Homing Criteria BEFORE applying for any of our dogs.

BREED: Setter type
SEX: Female (Neutered)
AGE: Aprox. 3 Years
SIZE: Large (16kg)

Beautiful Lucinda was handed into a dog pound as a stray and never reclaimed. It is possible that she was a failed gundog but she has no intention of failing as a companion - she is a poppet! She is friendly and sociable with everyone she meets, and as well as loving her walks and fun, she loves to be cuddled and fussed! She walks nicely on the lead and is good to handle.

Lucinda has been in a foster home while waiting to come to DBARC to find a loving, permanent home, and the fosterer found her to be very good with the resident dogs, and also good with the resident children, although these are very dog-savvy children, and due to an absence of long-rem history for Lucinda, we would not wish to place her with children under 10 years. We do not know if she has lived with cats or small pets.

Lucinda is an active dog who enjoys being out and about, and also enjoys human company and a good cuddle! She has the type of coat that may need an occasional trim, but also regular grooming, which she enjoys. She will need company most of the time.

When a dog moves into a new home, they need time and consideration to help them feel confident and settled. They are having to adjust to a totally different environment, with new people and new challenges, and when one adopts a rescue dog, one must be ready to help them through not just the first few days, but for as long as it takes for them to feel comfortable in their new life. They are relying on their new owners to teach them the house rules and all about the new world they are living in. They are likely to need and benefit from dog training classes, and may also need behavioural help and the adopter may need to seek professional advice. If you are considering adopting, please be very sure that you are committed to the needs of your new friend, as they will be relying on you and their life and happiness is literally in your hands. This will last for their lifetime, so please also take an honest look at your age and activity levels and ensure that you are likely to be able to meet their ongoing needs.
