Please read our Homing Criteria BEFORE applying for any of our dogs.

BREED: Labrador Type
SEX: Female (Neutered)
AGE: Aprox. 2 Years
SIZE: Large (19kg)

Gorgeous Grace has been surrendered to rescue due to a catastrophic change in her former family's circumstances and due to no fault of her own. She is a lovely dog with a happy and outgoing nature, and a constantly wagging tail! She is an easy dog to handle, good on and off the lead, and just wants to be everyone's friend!

Grace has not lived with children, so we would not wish to place her with youngsters under the age of 10 although she was good with the children she met whilst in foster prior to coming to DBARC but these are very dog-savvy children. She was also very good with the other dogs in the foster home, and is happy in the company of dogs of various shapes and sizes! This will need to be maintained by enabling her to socialise with other nice-natured dogs in a controlled environment. Grace has not lived with cats or small pets,

Grace loves her walks, and is an active dog who will need plenty of regular exercise. She has had some basic training but will need to have this continued in her new home. She is a quick learner, and loves to achieve food rewards and praise. She is used to company most of the time.

When a dog moves into a new home, they need time and consideration to help them feel confident and settled. They are having to adjust to a totally different environment, with new people and new challenges, and when one adopts a rescue dog, one must be ready to help them through not just the first few days, but for as long as it takes for them to feel comfortable in their new life. They are relying on their new owners to teach them the house rules and all about the new world they are living in. They are likely to need and benefit from dog training classes, and may also need behavioural help and the adopter may need to seek professional advice. If you are considering adopting, please be very sure that you are committed to the needs of your new friend, as they will be relying on you and their life and happiness is literally in your hands. This will last for their lifetime, so please also take an honest look at your age and activity levels and ensure that you are likely to be able to meet their ongoing needs.
