Tizzy was adopted from us a few months ago - and very sadly the adopters turned up at an event at DBARC demanding we took her back in as she was nipping when excited - and they were worried about their grandchildren.
Tizzy is a typical, young, lively and energetic collie who is very excitable - and is like a thing on a spring!!
She is also a highly intelligent girl who soaks up training and would make an excellent candidate for any doggie sport.
Working collies are the ferraris of the doggie world and need mental and physical exercise and need training in such things as not jumping up and nipping.
She is going to need somebody ideally with working dog experience - and somebody who is not going to let her down after a few days/weeks/months.
It takes time to build up a good relationship with any animal - so please think long and hard about this before wishing to adopt any animal. Any behavioural issues you need to look on as a challenge and something YOU are willing to work through. No good relationship will work without putting the time and effort in, so please have a good, long think before applying for any animal.
