Please read our Homing Criteria BEFORE applying for any of our dogs.

BREED: Retriever Cross Collie
SEX: Female (Neutered)
AGE: Aprox. 11 Months
SIZE: Medium (11 kg)

This gorgeous youngster is the offspring of a Golden Retriever mother and a collie father, and is one of a litter of 10 puppies who were deliberately and very irresponsibly bred in the hope of selling the puppies as Christmas presents! That proved unsuccessful, so their breeder simply kept all the puppies and did nothing about the situation until they eventually realised they now had a huge canine family that they could not manage and approached rescue for help. Both parents have now been neutered to prevent another repetition, and all the youngsters have been taken into rescue for rehoming.

Although this youngster has had a far from ideal start in terms of socialisation and training, it is certainly true that all the siblings have known nothing but kindness and have been fed and reared very well, so all are friendly and sweet-natured dogs who are very much "blank canvas" dogs. They don't know much about the world, they don't know much about dog training, but at least they don't know anything about the darker world that many rescue dogs have sadly endured.

If you are considering adopting this lovely dog, you will need to have an action plan to immediately start training in life skills and socialising in order that they can catch up with all they have missed. You will have a loving and pleasant dog who is eager to learn, but you will need to be ready to be the teacher! Attendance at dog training classes will be essential, and you will need to be very sure that you have the energy and commitment needed. and be able to provide company most of the time as these youngsters do not have any experience of being on their own. A steady mentor friend of another dog would be a huge asset.

Please fill in our Application Form if you are interested in adopting this dog

(If the animal’s name does not appear in the drop down box on the form - it means the animal is already reserved)
