BRUISER
Please read our Homing Criteria BEFORE applying for any of our dogs.
BREED: Pomeranian
SEX: Male (neutered)
AGE: Aprox. 9 Years
SIZE: Medium (8 kg)
Cute little Bruiser has sadly been surrendered into rescue care due to the chronic ill health of his elderly owner. In better times. Bruiser has been a very loved dog, but recently he simply has not been getting the care, attention he deserves and needs, but he is a lovely boy and very forgiving, so now we want to find him someone who will make sure he is valued and looked after properly again, bless him.
Bruiser is a real sweetie, not a bruiser at all! He has not lived with cats or small pets. He has not lived with children, so we would not wish to place him with youngsters under 10 years. He has not lived with other dogs and although he seems perfectly relaxed amongst his fellow rescue residents, he might find it a bit much to live with other dogs as he has been used to being the only dog in the household.
Bruiser loves human company, something he has been missing out on of late. He enjoys his walks, and also used to enjoy helping his owner to maintain a garden - think that was more of a supervisory role! But he just enjoys being a part of what his own special someone is doing. His luxuriant coat will need regular grooming, and he will need lots of love as he has missed out on this recently.
When a dog moves into a new home, they need time and consideration to help them feel confident and settled. They are having to adjust to a totally different environment, with new people and new challenges, and when one adopts a rescue dog, one must be ready to help them through not just the first few days, but for as long as it takes for them to feel comfortable in their new life. They are relying on their new owners to teach them the house rules and all about the new world they are living in. They are likely to need and benefit from dog training classes, and may also need behavioural help and the adopter may need to seek professional advice. If you are considering adopting, please be very sure that you are committed to the needs of your new friend, as they will be relying on you and their life and happiness is literally in your hands. This will last for their lifetime, so please also take an honest look at your age and activity levels and ensure that you are likely to be able to meet their ongoing needs.
