MILO

Please read our Homing Criteria BEFORE applying for any of our dogs.

BREED: Collie Cross Labrador
SEX: Male (neutered)
AGE: Aprox. 6 Years
SIZE: Medium/Large

Milo was adopted from us 3 years ago, but has very sadly had to come back to us because the only person in the family able to walk him is ill and unable to do so.

Milo has doubled in weight since he left as he has not been having the exercise. He is now on a strict doggie diet and exercise regime to get him back in shape.

The family who adopted him say he is a very barky dog and reacts to many things in the home like the TV, birds, doorbell etc. We feel this may be partly due to frustration from not getting the physical and mental exercise he needs and being in a busy home - so his new family will need to understand this and be willing and able to help him.

In the home he has been a very loving dog who enjoys cuddles and has been good with children.

He is not happy in the kennel environment so we hope he can find a family who will offer him his true forever home very soon.

When a dog moves into a new home, they need time and consideration to help them feel confident and settled. They are having to adjust to a totally different environment, with new people and new challenges, and when one adopts a rescue dog, one must be ready to help them through not just the first few days, but for as long as it takes for them to feel comfortable in their new life. They are relying on their new owners to teach them the house rules and all about the new world they are living in. They are likely to need and benefit from dog training classes, and may also need behavioural help and the adopter may need to seek professional advice. If you are considering adopting, please be very sure that you are committed to the needs of your new friend, as they will be relying on you and their life and happiness is literally in your hands. This will last for their lifetime, so please also take an honest look at your age and activity levels and ensure that you are likely to be able to meet their ongoing needs.
