BREED: Maltese Cross
SEX: Female (Neutered)
AGE: Aprox. 2-3 Years
SIZE: Small

Warning!! When you meet Minnie, your heart will melt! She is such a sweet and adorable little girl, with a lovely personality packed into a small dog! She has not been used to living in a hoe so does have a lot to learn, but she is extremely bright, extremely interactive, and will likely be a quick study for someone with the time, empathy and patience to teach her all about our world. Minnie already walks nicely on the lead, although her preferred status is on her back to have tummy rubs! She is a very lovely, very affectionate little dog, but at the same time she is just a youngster with a lot to learn, and with a great sense of fun so don't be fooled by that innocent little face - she is sure to enjoy a bit of mischief too!

Minnie has not lived with children, but would likely enjoy the company of youngsters who are used to dogs and of an age to not see her as a cuddly toy. She is unknown with cats or small pets. She is good with other dogs but is quite a tiny dog so would not be likely to be happy with larger or assertive dogs. She would really enjoy mixing with nice-natured, smaller dogs and would certainly enjoy living with a kind and calm canine companion to help her learn all about life.

Minnie has a low moulting coat that will need professional trimming from time to time. She is good on the lead, travels well in the car and is good to handle, but she will know nothing about living in a house, and nothing about the scary outdoor wold of traffic etc either so will need careful and empathic habituation to all sorts of things to help her feel comfortable in her new life. She will need company most of the time.

When a dog moves into a new home, they need time and consideration to help them feel confident and settled. They are having to adjust to a totally different environment, with new people and new challenges, and when one adopts a rescue dog, one must be ready to help them through not just the first few days, but for as long as it takes for them to feel comfortable in their new life. They are relying on their new owners to teach them the house rules and all about the new world they are living in. They are likely to need and benefit from dog training classes, and may also need behavioural help and the adopter may need to seek professional advice. If you are considering adopting, please be very sure that you are committed to the needs of your new friend, as they will be relying on you and their life and happiness is literally in your hands. This will last for their lifetime, so please also take an honest look at your age and activity levels and ensure that you are likely to be able to meet their ongoing needs.
