STANLEY

Please read our Homing Criteria BEFORE applying for any of our dogs.

BREED: Cavapoo
SEX: Male (Neutered)
AGE: Aprox. 6 Years
SIZE: Small/Medium (8 Kg)

Stanley is a delightful little chap who has come into rescue from the world of commercial breeding, so he has not been used to living in a normal hoe environment. He is friendly and sociable with people, but will need to be adopted by someone who has had dogs before and who is able to help him learn all about the normal world, which will be all new and potentially quite scary for him. He will need kind, empathic introduction to everything, and would do very well with a calm and friendly canine mentor, ideally a spayed female, as this would help him to blossom in his new life -and to have someone to play with.

Stanley will not have lived with children, so we would not wish to place him with children under 10 years. He is unknown with cats or small pes. He has lived with other dogs but would not be ideal with another male dog and he would find larger or assertive dogs intimidating, bless him.

Stanley does walk on the lead and he travels well in the car. He is a good boy to handle, but otherwise is lacking in doggie lifeskills! He's a lively, happy little guy once heis used to an environment, and will be a super, fun friend for someone who is able to help him adust to a whole new world. He will need company most of the time.

When a dog moves into a new home, they need time and consideration to help them feel confident and settled. They are having to adjust to a totally different environment, with new people and new challenges, and when one adopts a rescue dog, one must be ready to help them through not just the first few days, but for as long as it takes for them to feel comfortable in their new life. They are relying on their new owners to teach them the house rules and all about the new world they are living in. They are likely to need and benefit from dog training classes, and may also need behavioural help and the adopter may need to seek professional advice. If you are considering adopting, please be very sure that you are committed to the needs of your new friend, as they will be relying on you and their life and happiness is literally in your hands. This will last for their lifetime, so please also take an honest look at your age and activity levels and ensure that you are likely to be able to meet their ongoing needs.
