BREED: Corgi
SEX: Female (neutered)
AGE: Aprox. 3 Years
SIZE: Small/Medium (10 kg)

Cute little Lizzie has come into rescue from a breeding environment, so although she is in greath physical shape, and has been well cared-for and well handled she has not seen very much of the wider world and for that reason she will need in a home with another kind, calm dog to be her mentor and friend, and who will teach her all about living in a standard home environment. She already walks well on the lead but will need help learning other canine lifeskills, but she has a sweet and co-operative nature so while she will will be eager to learn and eager to please, she is also a shy dog who will need careful and considerate introduction to her new world.

Lizzie has not lived with children, so we would not wish to place her with children under 10 years. She has not lived with cats or small pets. She has lived with other dogs and actively enjoys their company, and loves to run and play with polite canine pas!

Lizzie will not be used to a standard domestic environment, and also will not be used to things lie traffic or an urban environment in general, so will need an empathic owner to get her used to the world and who will understand that she will find new things quite scary at times. She will need company most of the time as she has been used to canine company all the time, and will certainly not be suitable as an only dog.

When a dog moves into a new home, they need time and consideration to help them feel confident and settled. They are having to adjust to a totally different environment, with new people and new challenges, and when one adopts a rescue dog, one must be ready to help them through not just the first few days, but for as long as it takes for them to feel comfortable in their new life. They are relying on their new owners to teach them the house rules and all about the new world they are living in. They are likely to need and benefit from dog training classes, and may also need behavioural help and the adopter may need to seek professional advice. If you are considering adopting, please be very sure that you are committed to the needs of your new friend, as they will be relying on you and their life and happiness is literally in your hands. This will last for their lifetime, so please also take an honest look at your age and activity levels and ensure that you are likely to be able to meet their ongoing needs.
