Sweet Tilly has come into rescue along with another dog from the same household, because her elderly owner had to move into a nursing home and there was nobody to care for the dogs. Although the two dogs got along well, we do not feel it was necessary to rehome them together, as their former owner was confident that the dogs are both happy-go-lucky characters who would be fine as individual dogs because both like people so much! tilly is a fun and interactive dog who oves to play ball, loves her walks and loves attention, just an outgoing and happy dog, so easy to get along with and easy to handle.
Although tilly has mixed very happily with children, she has not lived with them and so we would not wish to rehome her with youngsters under 10 years. She has not lived with small pets, and will chase cats so is not suitable to live in a household with feline residents! She is good with other dogs.
Tilly is a bright and lively dog who will need an intrestig and active lifestyle and an active owner who will be able to give her company most of the time, as she has been used to having a person and another dog around so would potentially struggle with long periods alone.When a dog moves into a new home, they need time and consideration to help them feel confident and settled. They are having to adjust to a totally different environment, with new people and new challenges, and when one adopts a rescue dog, one must be ready to help them through not just the first few days, but for as long as it takes for them to feel comfortable in their new life. They are relying on their new owners to teach them the house rules and all about the new world they are living in. They are likely to need and benefit from dog training classes, and may also need behavioural help and the adopter may need to seek professional advice. If you are considering adopting, please be very sure that you are committed to the needs of your new friend, as they will be relying on you and their life and happiness is literally in your hands. This will last for their lifetime, so please also take an honest look at your age and activity levels and ensure that you are likely to be able to meet their ongoing needs.
