JASPER
Please read our Homing Criteria BEFORE applying for any of our dogs.
BREED: Collie Cross
SEX: Male (Neutered)
AGE: Aprox. 3-4 Years
SIZE: Medium
Jasper is a beautiful dog who was surrendered for rehoming by his former owners along with another dog because they did not have a secure garden and were not able to prevent the dogs from straying. Jasper had been in the same home since he was a young puppy so whilst this must have been a huge change for him, he has such a lovely nature and just likes people, so does not seem traumatised in any way! He is a really special boy, with a calm and loving personality. Jasper is a joy to be around.
Jasper has been used to living with children in his previous home, so we would be happy to rehome him with children who are used to dog and old enough to repect their needs and their space. He has not lived with cats. He has been used to living with a nother dog, and is aslso good when meeting new canine pals!
Jasper loves his walks and is an easy-going dog who loves as run but is also calm and sensible. He has been used to being with another dog, so will need company most of the time.
When a dog moves into a new home, they need time and consideration to help them feel confident and settled. They are having to adjust to a totally different environment, with new people and new challenges, and when one adopts a rescue dog, one must be ready to help them through not just the first few days, but for as long as it takes for them to feel comfortable in their new life. They are relying on their new owners to teach them the house rules and all about the new world they are living in. They are likely to need and benefit from dog training classes, and may also need behavioural help and the adopter may need to seek professional advice. If you are considering adopting, please be very sure that you are committed to the needs of your new friend, as they will be relying on you and their life and happiness is literally in your hands. This will last for their lifetime, so please also take an honest look at your age and activity levels and ensure that you are likely to be able to meet their ongoing needs.
