Please read our Homing Criteria BEFORE applying for any of our dogs.
BREED: Labrador Cross
SEX: Male (Neutered)
AGE: Aprox. 1 Year
SIZE: Medium/Large
Sweet little Shadow has come to us for rehoming having been in the care of another rescue, who saved him from a very bad situation. Shadow and another dog had a grim life where they were basically kept locked in an apassrtment, ofen for days at a time, and generally mistreated. Despite this horrible start, Shadow is a delightful asnd happy youngster who loves everyone and enjoys meeting new people! Dogs are so forgiving.
Shadow has not lived with cats or small pets, and has not lived with children although he would enjoy a family home with children over 10 years as he is so interactive. Even on walks he ikes to check in with his humans all the time for a cuddle! What a poppet! He is good with other dogs, and just a n all round sweet and lovable dog.
Because of his past, he will need someone around for him most of the time as he can become a little anxious when left, although he is improving as he learns that he doesn't have to worry about when he will get his next meal or some care, bless him. He is just a youngster so will need further basic training to help him catch up in general.
When a dog moves into a new home, they need time and consideration to help them feel confident and settled. They are having to adjust to a totally different environment, with new people and new challenges, and when one adopts a rescue dog, one must be ready to help them through not just the first few days, but for as long as it takes for them to feel comfortable in their new life. They are relying on their new owners to teach them the house rules and all about the new world they are living in. They are likely to need and benefit from dog training classes, and may also need behavioural help and the adopter may need to seek professional advice. If you are considering adopting, please be very sure that you are committed to the needs of your new friend, as they will be relying on you and their life and happiness is literally in your hands. This will last for their lifetime, so please also take an honest look at your age and activity levels and ensure that you are likely to be able to meet their ongoing needs.
