Please read our Homing Criteria BEFORE applying for any of our dogs.

BREED: ? Schnauzer x
SEX: Female (neutered)
AGE: Aprox. 3 Years
SIZE: Small

Poppet has come into rescue because her former owner was unable to cope with dog ownership any more. This was absolutely not the fault of little Poppet, who is a dear little dog who perhaps has felt a little insecure in recent times and who will thrive in a calm and loving environment, bless her. She just want to please, and to be praised and rewarded and to feel safe and loved.

Poppet has not lived with cats or small pets. She has been used to living with another dog. She has not lived with children so we would not wish to place her with children under 10 years.

Poppet loves her walks, and is good on the lead and well mannered in the home. She loves attention and enjoys cuddles and fuss! She will need company most of the time.

When a dog moves into a new home, they need time and consideration to help them feel confident and settled. They are having to adjust to a totally different environment, with new people and new challenges, and when one adopts a rescue dog, one must be ready to help them through not just the first few days, but for as long as it takes for them to feel comfortable in their new life. They are relying on their new owners to teach them the house rules and all about the new world they are living in. They are likely to need and benefit from dog training classes, and may also need behavioural help and the adopter may need to seek professional advice. If you are considering adopting, please be very sure that you are committed to the needs of your new friend, as they will be relying on you and their life and happiness is literally in your hands. This will last for their lifetime, so please also take an honest look at your age and activity levels and ensure that you are likely to be able to meet their ongoing needs.
