ATHENA

£0.00

Please read our Homing Criteria BEFORE applying for any of our dogs.

BREED: Lurcher Type
SEX: Female (Neutered)
AGE: Aprox. 2 Years
SIZE: Medium/Large (17 kg)

Athena is one of a group of three very similar dogs, probably sisters, who were found abandoned and in a critical state of neglect and emaciation. Virtually hairless and with every bone in their poor bodies visible, they somehow still managed to be cheerful and waggy - absolutely heartbreaking. All three girls were taken in by a rescue with whom DBARC often work, and they have done a fantastic job in a relatively short period of time, nursing the girls back to full health and high spirits. Iris and her sisters are gorgeous now and it is our joy to be able to help them on the next step of their journey by finding them loving homes.

Athena is a sweet-tempered and delightful dog who just loves life, despite the past that no dog should ever have to endure. She is full of fun, loves to run and play with toys and with other dogs, and loves to interact with people. She walks nicely on the lead, and just wants to please and to be praised.

Athena has no long term history, so we do not know whether she has met cats or small animals, or whether she has lived with children. We know she is good with other dogs. She is an easy dog to handle, and an even easier one to fall in love with! She will need kind and empathic handling as she may have had little experience of the wider world. She is used to company most of the time.

Please fill in our Application Form if you are interested in adopting this dog

(If the animal’s name does not appear in the drop down box on the form - it means the animal is already reserved)
